The writing of two Universal Source Mandalas is at the core of the Shinjin program. These are very large mandalas bearing the Japanese phrases Ware Soku Kami Nari (I am a divine being) and Jinrui Soku Kami Nari (humanity is divine) thousands of times over.
As we write these powerful phrases again and again, negative and disharmonious thoughts are replaced by positive, light-filled, loving thoughts, brightening our outlook on our life and circumstances, and imparting a sense of being greatly uplifted. Our thought-habits of criticizing, blaming, judging, and denying ourselves eventually give way to a brighter, more positive, more accepting, radiant self.
To explain the power and effectiveness of Universal Source Mandalas, Masami Saionji has written the following:
Universal Source Mandala of Ware Soku Kami Nari (I am a divine being)
In the process of writing each instance of ‘Ware Soku Kami Nari’ (I am a divine being) while holding the breath, we remember that in the past we were indeed divine life itself. Each time we write ‘I am a divine being’, an imprint of our divinity is etched in our soul.
“Why I am unhappy? Why I am ill or suffering now?” These present circumstances are none other than the results of our negative thoughts-habits of self negation generated in the past. These thoughts and their resulting effects must be consciously cleared and purified by our own power. Writing each ‘I am a divine being’ (or ‘Ware Soku Kami Nari’) overturns self-restriction, misunderstanding, and illusion. The continued inscription of ‘I am a divine being’ (or ‘Ware Soku Kami Nari’) brings to light our original self, which is truth itself and divinity Itself.
As we continue to write ‘I am a divine being’ (or ‘Ware Soku Kami Nari’), the light of the Universal Source begins to flow out directly from the center of the mandala. This flow of light starts when approximately seven circles are completed. Once the mandala is completed, the light from the Universal Source flows out constantly through the mandala to the earth. This results in an improvement of our own life circumstances, and furthermore, anyone coming in contact with the mandala is showered with light from the universal Source and is naturally led to happiness and an awakening to truth.
The Universal Source Mandala of Ware Soku Kami Nari (I am a divine being) brings great harmony to the writer and elevates us to a divine state. Any illnesses, afflictions, or accidents that were created through our disharmonious heart and mind are bound to fade away.
Universal Source Mandala of Jinrui Soku Kami Nari (Humanity is divine)
By writing the Universal Source Mandala of Jinrui Soku Kami Nari (Humanity is divine), we inscribe the truth of humanity’s divinity. Each time we write ‘Humanity is divine’ (or ‘Jinrui Soku Kami Nari’), one human being is uplifted. When the mandala is completed, a great many people will be uplifted. Thus, the Universal Source Mandala of Jinrui Soku Kami Nari makes a tremendous contribution to humanity.
As with the mandala of Ware Soku Kami Nari (I am a divine being), the light of the Universal Source starts to flow from about the completion of the seventh circle. The light radiates out from the center of the Mandala to all humanity. When writing the Universal Source Mandala of Jinrui Soku Kami Nari (Humanity is divine), we become a medium for the universal divine light, energy, power, and truth. The image of the mandala can be equated to a convex lens: it gathers the great truth scattered across the earth, and then radiates it out to humanity.
The Universal Source Mandala of Jinrui Soku Kami Nari (Humanity is divine) harmonizes human relationships. It brings about peace among people and facilitates an awakening to truth.
Through the Universal Source Mandalas, the opposing notions of good and evil (duality) vanish. Truth transcends dualism, and the Universal Source is a manifestation of truth. The principle of unity with the divine mind dispels antagonism, and when antagonism is non-existent, humanity becomes one. Oneness will exist between the Universal Source and humanity, among humanity, and between humanity and all living things. Ethnic and religious discrimination will come to an end, and wars and strife will also disappear.
As we write and complete the Universal Source Mandalas, our inherent, infinite wisdom and ability are revealed, enabling us to choose, decide, and create wonderful things.
Up to now, due to a lack of confidence in ourselves, we may have relied on an external God or on others to guide our life. Through the writing of these mandalas, we will start to create a radiant life, guided completely by our own intuitive power and inner divine wisdom. And because the light of the Universal Source is continuously emitted through the mandalas, others around us will also reach a state of happiness and awakening.
